Slice of Life
Check out my feature about Brown County.
Brown County is a teeny little area in the middle of southern Indiana, something you’d drive right through and miss if you didn’t know about it. The town of Nashville is sort of in the middle; it’s full of antique stores, art galleries, ice cream shops, museums, wineries, and restaurants, and locals who are only a little grudging about the tourists who flock into the town in the summer and fall. The Brown County State Park, just up the road from the downtown area, offers a restaurant (with a buffet, I might add) and lodge, as well as private cabins and plenty of hiking trails. Check your local library for a NPS pass –some libraries offer discounted or free tickets to national parks.
